As we read through the Bible we see God taking a posture of
patience, and a desire to work with people, despite their poor
choices. The best example of this is this the nomadic,
shepherd named Abram. Now, for certain, Abram is far from a
perfect. He makes huge mistakes, and even pushes God's
patience on more than one occasion. However, despite his
flaws and mistakes, God enters into a covenant
relationship with him, not because of his perfection, but
because of God's goodness and Abram's faithfulness.
"Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as
righteousness." ~ Genesis 15:6
