How often do you go through your day and contemplate the impact of the spiritual forces of evil upon your life? Well, if you are like most people, your answer is probably zero. As we scan the headlines, or watch the news ticker on the bottom of the screen, we learn everyday about horrible atrocities taking place in our world; murders, abuse, genocide, and sex slavery. We shake our heads in disgust, and then point the blame at a government, regime or person. But what if there is something more sinister and evil going on?
Jesus specifically states that there are spiritual forces at
work all around; unseen enemies of God's plan in the world.
The apostle Paul even declares that the battle a Christian fights
isn't against humans, but against "the rulers, against the
authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the
spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." The
"heavenly realms" refers to the unseen, the spiritual
space all around people. What both Jesus and the apostle Paul
are teaching is that the unseen is real, dangerous...and most
importantly something people need to defend themselves against!

can deploy to defend ourselves against the spiritual forces of
