Some days, it feel like we are losing. No school,
empty streets, closed playgrounds and silent church
buildings. Maybe it's even more personal. The loss of a
job, relationship, or a way of life has pulled you down. No
matter how you look at it, a loss is still a loss. However,
what if there is more going on than what meets the eye? What
if God is reminding us that we are "keeping score" with the wrong
things? Is it possible that God is providing us a season
where we can have a refresher about what life is all
about? Maybe most importantly he is providing us an
opportunity to learn what it looks like to "win" in life and as a
church!
This sermon is the launch of a new series
designed to remind us about what it means to be the church...even
when the church isn't meeting in a building! It's easy to
have the sense that the church is losing, but in fact just the
opposite is happening! The church has left the building and
is meeting around Johnson County. The church is being
generous and loving it's neighbors...and most importantly the
church is making Jesus famous! In this series we will study
the words of Jesus and what he says about his church and how we can
begin to measure success. We hope you find it helpful,
enjoy!
